Built by an ebike commuter, for ebike commuters

I built EbikeHQ because I needed it and could not find it anywhere else.

Every morning I load my kids onto my ebike and ride the same route I have been riding for years. My ebike is not a hobby. It is how my family gets around for everything except the occasional long trip.

Like a car, an ebike needs maintenance. Chains wear out. Tyres lose pressure. Brakes need adjusting. But unlike a car, there is usually no warning light before expensive damage happens.

I kept meaning to stay on top of it. I never quite managed to. The tools I found were built for someone else: apps tied to Strava, calculators built for race training, and optimistic manufacturer range claims.

So I built my own.

What EbikeHQ actually is
Range calculator

Tells you what your battery will realistically do based on your actual weight, actual terrain, and actual weather - not a best-case scenario.

Chain wear calculator

Shows where your chain is in its life, what it costs to replace now, and what it may cost if you wait too long.

Commute cost calculator

Compares the true cost of your car commute - fuel, parking, and wear - against what you spend on your bike.

Maintenance tracker

Remembers your bike so you do not have to. Add weekly distance and service dates, and get a plain email before something needs attention.

Who this is for

If you ride an ebike to work, school, or the shops - if your bike is transport rather than sport - EbikeHQ is for you.

You probably do not log every ride. You probably just want your bike to work reliably every day, without having to think about it too much.

Who built it

I am a web developer based in Norway. I ride a cargo ebike. EbikeHQ is a side project built in the evenings and run as a small independent business.

The tools are designed to give honest information, not sell a specific brand. If the range calculator tells you to expect less than a manufacturer claim, that is because it is true.
